For your information, 29 gauge is equivalent to 0.342mm, commonly we use 0.34 or 0.35mm material as the substitution. Change the height to 341mm we can get a 5 gallon steel pail (US gallon)
Application: unlined steel pail can be used for oil-based paint, lubricating oil, water-free chemical products such as polyurethane etc.
Steel pail lined with water-proof coatings can be used water based paint and other water based products
Package: plastic film, carton and pallets.
Storage: Keep the pails away from sharp objects. The unlined pail should be stored in environment of low moisture.
Relative knowledge:
Steel pail is an ideal package of chemical products. Tinplate is the main material of pail, but In practice, steel pails can be made from different materials according to different usage. For example, we have received a sample from a foreign customer made by chrome plate to pack some kinds of solid products. Chrome plate (abbreviated TFS ) is a new material for metal package, cheaper than tinplate, but rust-resisting property is not as good as tinplate, but lap resistance welding or glue can be used to produce chrome plate container. Chrome plate is not ideal material for pail comparing with tinplate. When price is acceptable, tinplate pail is better. In China, Chrome plate is seldom used as the the material for pail.
Base steel plate without tinning or other metal cladding can also be made to pail after it is lined with water proof coatings. But it is seldom produced unless the customer requiring it in consideration of cost.
Super galum steel can be used as the bottom of the pail. Super galum steel sheet has good rust-resisting property but is too hard to be moulded while tinplate is more malleable as an ideal material for pail wall. Industrial grade pail can be made by only tinplate or tinplate wall with Super galum steel bottom. According to our experience, both domestic and foreign manufacturers produce this kind of pail.
Food grade pail can only be made by tinplate.
All the mentioned materials above can be distinguished by eyes.
